Dow Hill , The haunted Arena

The horror stories :

Haunted Forest

Dow Hill's haunted pine forest is known for local ghost stories involving a headless boy who appears on the "Death Road" and a spirit of a beheaded student from the nearby Victoria Boys' School.

Locals report other paranormal activity, such as whispers, footsteps, and strange noises, especially during December and March, leading to fear and anecdotal accounts of ghostly apparitions.

  • The Death Road: A small stretch between Dow Hill Road and the forest office, but its horror incidents are a ton. The woodcutters in this region very often report a headless boy walking on the road and disappearing into the woods. The people say that they constantly feel watched over and followed by an unseen entity. They apparently have seen a red-eyed stare at them and a woman dressed in grey clothes walking around.

  • Victoria Boys’ High School: The school is 100 years old, and the ghostly visits haven’t had a halt. There have been countless unexplained deaths in this area. The locals say that the dark vibe from the forests has reached this school as well. December to March is apparently when things go wild. There are noises in the hallway, footsteps and whispers which are so scary that the school remains closed during this wintertime. We don’t know if the cold weather adds up to this chilled, scary feeling, but it sure is freaky.

Dow Hill Church is a colonial-style church located in Kurseong, West Bengal, near the Victoria Boys School.

It is known for its peaceful atmosphere, colonial architecture, and for being the subject of local ghost stories, which contribute to the perception that it is a "haunted" location, though many visitors find it not to be haunted.

The church is not abandoned, but the main entrance is closed, and visitors can view it from the outside or enter the church grounds through the school's entrance
